Strawberry Rhubarb Sauce

This is a really tasty sauce that is an excellent base to go in a few different directions for it's use. Try the sauce warm as it is
here over your morning oatmeal.. or add cinnamon and chill and it makes a wonderful topping for your ice cream. You can even
add salsa and make a more savory topping for a BBQ Chicken or Pork dish. Rhubarb is in season, and is an excellent source
for fiber and calcium. Historically was used as a very beneficial medicine source, to help with acid stomach.

Strawberry Rhubarb Sauce

Ingredients:

2 cups Strawberries, sliced
2 cups Rhubarb, sliced
1/4 cup Splenda Brown Sugar Blend

optional for creating a dessert topping: add 1 tablespoon cinnamon
optional for creating a meat topping for BBQ Chicken or Pork: add 1 cup fresh salsa

Directions:

In a pot add rhubarb and brown sugar blend and water to cover. Simmer for 15 min, stirring occasionally. Add Strawberries and simmer for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve warm as a sauce or side dish, or chill
as a dessert topping. Great as a topping also for oatmeal!!
