Grilled Artichokes..
a Plethra of Options

A special dinner of sensual foods can steam up the night and get you in the mood. Artichokes, a natural aphrodisiac, have long been known to bring couples together and increase the libido, and cooks who want to get a little closer to their guests should consider incorporating Italian artichokes into their special meals.

Whole Artichokes

Cooled Artichokes can be filled with cold salmon, tuna, shrimp or chicken.
Brush with olive oil and grill until brown.
Grill to impart a robust smoky flavor.
Stuff with Italian herb breadcrumbs and laughing cow cheese filling.

Halves

Serve as cold buffet dish.
Pour balsamic vinegar between the petals and finish on the grill for a spectacular flavor combination.

Stems and Hearts

Slice Hearts and add to spicy Asian sautés and stir-fries.
Slice stem into “coins,” fry in olive oil until crispy and dip in fat-free mayonnaise.
Slice and add as a tasty filling to your favorite omelet or quiche.
Use to create Artichoke dip, one of the world's greatest appetizers (and guilt-free pleasures!).

Baby Artichokes

Quarter Baby Artichokes and add to baked whole grain pastas, fish and meat casseroles, stews, brown rice pilaf, and quiche.
Sprinkle with olive oil, garlic and pepper, and oven roast.
